Declaration of conformity as a welding manufacturer in rail vehicle construction to the EN 15085 series of standards
Welding companies that carry out welding work for new production or repair must meet the requirements of the DIN EN 15085 series of standards “Railway applications – Welding of railway vehicles and components”. This also applies to manufacturers that do not carry out welding work themselves but design, purchase and assemble welded railway vehicles and components or purchase and resell them.
The purpose of this series of guidelines is to describe the conformity assessment of welding companies as evidence of the implementation of the DIN EN 15085 series of standards. For this purpose, the possible conformity assessment procedures according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17000 “Conformity assessment – Vocabulary and general principles” are explained and specifications for the selection of the conformity assessment procedure are described. The requirements for welding companies according to DIN EN 15085-2 are explained in this guideline.
Guideline parts DVS 1619-2 “Conformity assessment by a first party (first party)”, DVS 1619-3 “Conformity assessment by a second party (second party)” and DVS 1619-4 “Conformity assessment by a third party (third party)” describe the processes of the individual conformity assessment procedures. The criteria for selecting the conformity assessment procedures are described.
