Warm Gas Series Welding (WS) of thermoplastics
This guideline provides users of hot-gas series welding with information on the welding process, machine technology and tools, material influences, quality requirements and quality assurance.
The term hot-gas welding is used as a generic term for all welding processes that use heating by means of convection. Hot-gas series welding differs in its handling as an automatic or semi-automatic series welding process from manual/craft welding processes. It is a two-stage welding process with contactless heating of the joining zones.
In industry, the following process designations are often used as synonyms for hot-gas series welding: hot-gas welding, hot-air welding and, less frequently, warm-air welding.
